Giorgi Dgebuadze was Appointed to the Position of Deputy Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law

Giorgi Dgebuadze was appointed to the position of Deputy Dean of the TSU Faculty of Law. Giorgi Dgebuadze was born in Sokhumi. He graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University the faculty of law. At different times, within the framework of different international scientific scholarships and fellowships, he was a Ph.D. student and researcher at the Institute for International Peace and Security Law, the Institute for Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure, the University of Cologne, as well as at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law of Freiburg. He defended his doctoral thesis in international criminal law. He has been engaged in advocacy and consulting with a specialization in criminal law. His prior practice was in the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, The Constitutional Court of Georgia, and The International Criminal Court of The Hague. He has been teaching criminal law and international criminal law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, The University of Georgia, Sokhumi State University, and other universities and has been an expert in different international scientific-research projects.

 

Giorgi Dgebuadze is an assistant professor of the faculty of law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. At the same time, he is a Director of the Volkswagen Foundation Project: “The Role of International Criminal Law in Georgia - Current Challenges and Prospects for Jurisprudence”. He is a Legal Adviser of The Constitutional Court of Georgia and scientific editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law. He is an author of about twenty scientific articles, translations, book reviews, and one monograph, as well as a scientific editor of about ten teaching books and handbooks, and a participant/organizer of different international and national conferences.
